Help us engage children in science and nature!
The Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo has an 80-year+ legacy of inspiring a passion for science, appreciation for nature, and love of exploration for children of all ages. With your support, we can continue and expand our mission of engaging a child's curiosity in science and nature by providing early childhood experiences and science education to the community.
Ways to Support the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo
The City of Palo Alto and the Friends of the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo work together to support and enhance the Junior Museum & Zoo, and to ensure that the Junior Museum & Zoo provides an equitable and meaningful experience to visitors of all communities, backgrounds, and abilities.
Make a Donation
You may make a gift to the City of Palo Alto via check. Please make your checks out to the City of Palo Alto and write a comment on the check that designates which Junior Museum & Zoo Program you would like to support. You can mail your check or bring it in person to the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo at 1451 Middlefield Road Palo Alto, CA 94301.
You may make a gift to The Friends of the Junior Museum & Zoo's Annual fund; general operating support that allocates dollars where they are most needed and helps to fund programs, including Access and Inclusion initiatives like Super Family Sunday and Science Outreach. You may also designate your gift to support a specific program or campaign:
- The Dinosaur Garden Campaign: Scheduled to open in 2023, the Dinosaur Garden will be an immersive experience of the Cretaceous period in California. The garden will feature prehistoric plants within a seasonal marsh landscape, life-size dinosaurs, prehistoric animal sculptures, and interactive interpretive exhibits, including a fossil dig. Exhibits will be fully inclusive, including wheelchair access to the fossil dig, braille labels, and tactile, sensory-rich elements for children of all abilities.
- Commemorative Block Campaign for Exhibits: Help fund exhibitions in our new and improved facillity by making a commemorative gift to a donor block wall. Blocks may be custom inscribed with a name, a dedication, a memorial, or an inspirational quote. Your commemorative block will become part of a community donor wall and will be displayed for a minimum of 15 years.
Support with your Membership: Each annual membership at the Supporting Family level provides a tax deductible gift of $100.00 that supports the operations of the Junior Museum & Zoo.
Leverage your gift with your employer: Did you know that many employers will match your donation to the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo? Corporate matching can double your impact.
