Service Opportunities
Help engage our visitors with various exciting and educational experiences throughout the Museum & Zoo! Our Discovery Guides lead a variety of fun and interactive games, activities, and challenges, and host a variety of "table-top" activities for families. Discovery Guides often assist our Zoo staff with front-facing animal encounters--such as feeding our flamingos, or providing protection for our peacock, Apu--with occasional opportunities to help with behind-the-scenes animal care. Discovery Guides are asked to commit to volunteering monthly for at least one year. Open to individuals 15 years of age or older. Interested applicants should submit a Volutneer Application through the link below. Please direct your questions to our Volunteer Coordinator by emailing Dia.Dhariwal@paloalto.gov.
Assist with a variety of educational and administrative duties including welcoming visitors to the Center and surrounding Open Space, maintaining exhibit and learning resources, and participating on special projects. Baylands volunteers must be able to commit to at least 6 months of volunteering, and must be available during Nature Center open hours: either on Saturdays from 12-3p, or Sundays from 10a-3p. Open to individuals 18 years of age or older. Interested applicants should submit a Volunteer Application through the link above.
